You are 16.  In general you just can't work past 9 on a school night and not more than 20 hour per week. reev Posted at 12:57 pm on Aug. 20, 2008 you can get the worker's permit at the courthouse, you'll need your social security card and your mom or dad there with you. it's like $5 or something, so it's cheap. other than that I don't think there's anything else you need. if there is, I'm sure your mom or dad can tell you, or the employer will let you know.
