I want to apply for some jobs online but my brother told me if I submit my application after 5pm I'm less likely to get the job. Do you think that is true? It's now 5:57pm where I live.

I made first contact with my current employer after 9PM by email, got a reply 10min later.  For being a lifeguard it shows flexability in schedulu.  Good for many part-time jobs.  For professional jobs, will most likely not have online applications (resume and cover letter).

I doubt they care about the time.. lets say this guy knocks off at 11 AM to go home.  You would consider 11 30 AM early right?  Well, an application submitted at 5 PM wouldn't really matter much.  He'll see them both when we gets back.

how the hell does that even make sense?

He said since typical business hours are 9-5, it looks un professional if i apply after that...IDK it kind of made sense to me.

Maybe in person it would look like you had less ambition with completing an application later in the day..but im not sure about online

Just go to the place..

I think they care more about the contents of your application than the time of day you submitted it (meaning it doesn't mean shit).
neverjeeps Posted at 5:56 pm on Sep. 18, 2008
No, if you submit them then call the place and tell then you submitted it there is a greater chance they will call you in for an interview.

It's on the internet, how could that possibly be true?
