Hi, my name is Daniel and I have been in the military ever since 22AUG06 when I enlisted at the Dallas MEPS office in Dallas, TX.  After I enlisted, I was shipped to Ft. Jackson, then Ft. Knox, KY for BCT (01SEP06 through 03NOV08) and finally Ft. Lee, VA for AIT as a 92Y (Unit Supply Specialist) where I contracted a disease 03DEC06 and was finally admitted to Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Norfolk, VA (22MAR07), then TX Neurological Facility in Austin, TX (11APR07) to eventually Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX (03JUN07 - Now) where I have received a 60% TDRL medical retirement pending re-evaluation JUN 2009 here!

I am finally out of the U.S. Army!

I know this is late, but..

Oh Val! I am so excited for you. I am glad you are out. Do you start classes in the fall?

We can be grad school buddies.

Sure, where will you be attending graduate school?

Minnesota.

We will have to be long distance grad school friends.

If only you and I would attend the same classes at TCU!  You could just as easily transfer, you know?

Unfortunately, it needn't more than a handful of days in order for my disease to not only ruin my day, but leave me crippled within a place where empathy flows as ramped as intelligence.

Got that. Took it as your previous enlistment, sounded like you were in longer than that.

Ah, very good. You've got some work ahead of you. Good luck with that.

Oh I see. That's not good. At least it's worked out for you there.

How long were you in for?

Read the dates expressed in the OP for that information.

That's good. Hopefully you had actually wanted to be discharged. Why were you shipped back to San Antonio?
Yes, I wanted to be medically discharged namely due to my desire to continue education toward a Master of Divinity from TCU at Brite Divinity (Master of Divinity) through the Vocational Rehab (Chapter 31) by Veterans Affairs!  Afterward, I'll have a way to work toward a doctorate with the help of the TX Veterans Commission!

Why was I shipped to San Antonio?  Because it was the closest post to Austin, TX where I literally had to learn how to walk again when my disease was affecting me to such extremes.

well as long as you are happy with it....what made you join if you wanted out so bad jw
I hadn't a clue that I'd contract a disease during my time of service initially, and they treated me terribly throughout the course of my enlistment namely due to my receiving a college degree before enlisting.  Why didn't I become an officer?  Good question.  In truth, my recruiter was incompetent, MEPS is fully of lying sons-of-bitches, and nobody knows anything beyond where to place their thumbs directly whenever they're not screwing over newer recruits.

Does that answer your question?
