My 7800GTX still pulls it's own weight, I can't afford a high end card right now and it does the job, so if you can pick something like that up cheap second hand it should work well, although not as future proof for DX10 but it's a more powerful card. According to FRAPS, I had 26FPS, which is actually playable on Crysis. Granted, I usually turn it down to medium, so I can pull about 35FPS, but you have to remember, with the Crysis blur system, you dont need nearly as many FPS to play. Macropiper Posted at 2:04 pm on July 7, 2008 As others have said, because your current video card probably uses AGP, and AGP has been obsolete for a few years, it is probably time to buy a new computer. The good side about this is that you get to pick a new CPU and more RAM and such like too. The fastest AGP video card that I can find is a Geforce 7600 GS, which should provide passable performance in things like HalfLife 2 to up to a screen resolution of 1280 by 1024 or so. You guys are living in the past. 5500s aren't up to SHIT. Those things can't even handle World of Warcraft ahhahaha. If its an AGP video card, give up and buy a new system, you can get some good stuff for cheap these days. If its PCIE, look at the NVidia 9600GT, or if you have a bit more cash, the ATi 4850.
