Ok, so my computer has a virus so I might as well just wipe out vista like I want to, but the problem is none of my disc will work, so how do is it possible to take and wipe out to OS system and then install a new one off of a disc, if so what disc, and I want XP back so if we could base this on a XP type thing? Thanks. : )

just pop in the XP disc and when it asks where to install just install it on the space where your vista is installed and it will erase vista

Pretty much what DJ said. You need the official Windows XP disk, it should be gold coated on the top.

You need your installation disc by windows.

For a complete hard drive wipe
(you will lose all your data)

Have the cd rom boot instead of the OS
