a few weeks before it shut down it said i had low memory, etc. and then a few days before the touchpad mouse stopped working completely. i'm so sad i don't want to get it reformatted because i have all my pictures and school assignments on there. my cousin tested the battery and said it was fine. right now it's charging, a lot of time has gone by. when i click on the power button it lights for a few seconds and turns off. the charger light is on too. heelp  please

when i reset the mouse under control panel a few times the mouse light would come on but the touchpad still didn't work.

overheated*

not "overheaded"

sounds like the power supply and possibly either overheaded circuit for mousepad or virus interacting with the control center which controls the functionality of the keyboard.  I'd go with the power supply.
