Doesn't anyone know why a video card will be supported in ubtuntu linux but not in suse linux? I have 7950 gt oc card in my desktop and ubuntu supports it with the nvidia drivers so I can use the special effects *cube desktop and such* but in SuSE linux it won't recognize the card even if I do install the drivers and try to enable the special effects through compiz and beryl. Would this have to do with the kernel?

You will have to install the official/proprietary drivers.

Suse being a pain in the ass with drivers is why I have never used it longer than 3 hours.  I will just stick with Mandriva, Fedora, and/or LinuxMint.
