I just installed Ubuntu the other day. I ran into a couple issues, but their support forum provided the help I needed. So you may also want to check there.

Did you double check you enabled the restricted nVidia driver, as well as downloaded, installed, and enabled Compiz Fusion?

Step 1: Reinstall Windows.

I have used Ubuntu and various other Linux distros, if I can't answer the question there are a few other on here that know more than me.

Help you on what?

I can't get Compiz Fusion working. I've got an iNvidia graphics card, and I thought I did everything to get Compiz up and going... it just doesn't work.
