nope, it copied OS X
What are you even talking about? There is NO similarity in the theme, environment, or kernel. OS X is UNIX based, Vista is Windows NT based (which was derived from DOS, but has evolved ALOT) To the OP: Personally, I like it. Kinda. Its a love hate. I dont mind it, and I personally use it. Not because I have to, but because I want to. My computer is powerful enough to run it smoothly, so thats not an issue. The only thing I dont like is driver issues, and the fact that it doesnt like to be ignored. I didnt use my computer for a few weeks, and it just wouldnt work anymore. It worked fine before, but now it doesnt. HUGE deal to most people if something like that happened, not at all a big deal to me. Just reinstalled, and it was fine. The price is also an issue. It costs money for hardware, and then the OS. If you have XP, keep XP. If you are getting a new, decent computer, take it with Vista.
not talking about the code ect, I was speaking on its appearance and interface. Id talk all about it but this is easier... http://youtube.com/watch?v=TaIUkwPybtM
The Flippy Triangles: MS has used carrots as they are called to show expanded folders in previous themes, just not the default theme. The calendar: A striking resemblance. I want to point out that it is a freaking calendar though! I will give that point to Apple though. Its to similar. Photo Organizer: Do they mean Windows Explorer? That feature has been around since the early days, and has shown thumbnails since XP. Not a new feature. They simply added the ability to sort it out in the open, rather than from the drop down menu. Search: Your talking about the combination of Run and Live Search? Oh please. Thats bull shit. That is the run command that has been around since before OSX was even thought of. Gadgets/Widgets: These were not invented by Apple, nor wear they stolen from Apple. Stolen, but not from Apple. They have been around for a long time, and a similar feature was in XP, where you could use a webpage or HTML code in an iFrame on the desktop. Chess: Apple ripped chess off of MS, which included it in earlier versions of Windows. Apple made it 3D, MS followed. Little bit of copying from both companies there. Other notes: Both companies have stolen from each other and other companies over the years. This isnt a new idea, and has gone on for a long time. Oh, and I would like to point out how OSX is based on UNIX, rips of the KDE environment, and uses the same kernal as freeBSD. That is all. |
