| Also going diskless woudl really screw over companies, stores like Gamestop account for like 20%-25% of video game related sales. Killing off physical distribution will hurt them in the long run. |

You wouldn't have to worry about your system crashing on a Playstation 3... blah blah blah mention the word Playstation four more times... It's Sony's idea of making things easier and the center of entertainment.
You can do all that on a 360. Stop trying to sell me a Playstation and think critically for once. It is not convenient in any way to have gigs of data simply be wiped out.
I was simply replying to what you had to say about game data and store purchases being wiped out. Oh man, shoot for me for giving you the answer. LOL
I was talking about the drawbacks of a disc-less system, and you answered it with a detailed account of the PSN store, which I already know about. |

Having a slow connection has nothing to do with download only being viable. Even the best connections(aside from the freakishly fast stuff, you know 1GB a second) will take forever to download a 20gb or higher game.
The full game download for Warhawk on the Playstation Network is only 800MB. Do you honestly think it's going to be 50GB? With cable Internet that would not take days to download. |

| Also, if you have slow Internet, then you probably shouldn't be playing online in the first place. Ha ha. The last thing I need is some dude lagging up my play time. Thank God most games boot those people. |

I'm sure Microsoft will go that route. So far they have Warhawk, SOCOM confrontation, Burnout Paradise, and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. I can't wait for them to expand it further, though. You'll never have preorder or goto the store again. Oh, and it's cheaper, since it's not on a dsic.
I think it'll be a while until consoles are disc-free. It doesn't account for people without an internet connection. Also, let's say your connection isn't the fastest and Sony starts brining out games that actually fill Blu-Ray discs. That's a 50gb download. The game might come out on Friday, you might not be able to play it until a few days later. Then what happens if you hard drive crashes? There goes all your games and data. Especially considering 360 failure rates! It's a good idea in theory, but the hardware will have to be much more reliable.
You wouldn't have to worry about your system crashing on a Playstation 3, because all of your downloads are recorded on the Playstation Store. That means you can delete the game off of your system, then download it later if you want, and without paying for it again. The great thing about the Playstation 3 is that you can buy a laptop hard drive and pop it in your Playstation 3. I might be getting a 500MG hard drive for Christmas for my Playstation 3. They will always have the disc, but the option to download the game off of the Playstation Store will always be there. You'll see more popping around here and there. It's Sony's idea of making things easier and the center of entertainment. |

Oh c'mon, the only new things that really matter are the 8 people party chat and downloading games to your hard drive. Those are amazing.
yeah, i have to agree with this guy ^. i mean the new interface is just so much easier to understand, the downloading to hd makes load times faster. so it was just altogether a better thing to do. |

Xbox Live was the pinnacle of online gaming experiences. And you had to give it an Extreme Fag Makeover. You totally fuck up a perfectly good system, and yet you still won't fix Windows Vista?
WTF is wrong with you FOOL! Thats the coolest thing they have done EVER!!! Plus, its your own fault for BUYING vista in the first place.
I don't have Vista.
If you don't have vista why are you bitching about it?
I'm bitching about the new Xbox dashboard. I just threw that little Vista reference in there for shits and giggles. |
