I'm about to order it...

Grandma decided to end my, "I hate my shuffle!" frustration.

my friend has an old classic and loves it but i have had a nano and i think thats where its at. they had a lot of memory and a bunch of great features. if u have movies and stuff then a classic is good. but if not a nano is just fine

I actually like the iPod classic over all the other iPods with the exception of iPod touch. The 6th generation rocks my socks and 120GB is nothing but a plus. The other iPods really lack in memory when you get to the nitty gritty. Photos, videos, and music eat up space in a snap so an iPod with a lot of memory is the way to go. Maybe the other iPod designs are low in memory by design. Still, the more memory, the better.  Because the iPod has 6 generations and different amounts of memory, you have sorta like a collection to choose from. You can go with the low memory if you like. No biggy. But at only $249 for 120GB, you're getting your monies worth.  The 6th generation also not only has the memory, but it's design is great. The shuffle and nano just feels weird to me. The iPod classic is just the right size for a media player. Not too small, not too big.  The battery life is an issue we all deal with. I'm trying to figure out now why my iPod touch is killing the battery. At 30 hours (rated), it's not too shabby.

Some other features I like:

Musical Genius

I use this and it works great. The idea is to find songs that are related to a selected song that you like. The iPod will create a list and you're on your way.

Click Wheel

While I love and have adapted to touch screens, wheels are still nice.

On top of that, the accessories are great. Yeah, they're great for the other iPods too. But it's still a plus. :D I really do wish the iPod could support removable memory. That would just push me over the edge and I would put a ring on the iPod's finger.

I have it, and I think it's really quite excellent, except when I'm running. I had one break down on me but it was still under warranty.

I'm gonna use the shuffle at the gym.

Then I think you've made a good choice.
Go for black though, not silver :)

Yep, t'was the plan. I like the sleek, black design. With a nice ipod sock.

 I don't like the nano's rounded edges...

this is what they look like now. i have one! they're great. I got a 16gig one.

I know...they have rounded off edges...at least on the side. I like the classic's design better.
