I finally got a few, but they take so damn long. What the hell is a .RAR file? How do I install the program I downloaded if that's the filetype?

Replies bg kNIFE Posted at 11:02 am on July 22, 2008 Azureus is good, however, since they went to Vuze, it has gotten too heavy. I recommend you use BitTyrant, as it uses the Azureus code, however, it is lighter. As for the .rar , it is a file formant. WinRAR is good, however, is is paid after the trial. 7zip is a free archiver program. You can download it at: http://www.7-zip.org/ To install, simply unpack the .rar archive and then run the setup file or follow the readme file as they are usually included. matto Posted at 9:41 am on July 12, 2008 RAR files are compressed files.  You need a program, like blufindr said, to uncompress the file and access the info within.  WinRAR is a good one. Is Aze the same sort of thing?   And btw, if you're torrenting, then it's not going to be quick, genius.
