So, I've had my 5G iPod video for about 20 months now.  I have thought about putting Linux to it, but I decided against it because I didn't want to risk bricking it.  I figure that now it has passed its expected life span, I may as well.  What is the best and safest way to get it?  Also, is it fairly easy to remove?  I might have to remove the second OS if it isn't compatible with my car stereo.
