It's small, free, cheap, has brilliant heuristic rates, and the icon is simple enough to decipher (open umbrella = all good, closed umbrella = something's wrong or it's off). I've never liked AVG: the interface was confusing and the new toolbar thing is just annoying - I'll take McAfee SiteAdvisor, thankyou (at least in Firefox it doesn't demand a whole toolbar),  Avast! is good on 9x machines (about the only free AV for them, I might point out), My bank offers me free PCTools Antivirus (I'm waiting for my Trend Micro subscription to run out before installing new stuff), and the others I've never heard of (Except ClamAV, which I've never used because of it's lack of active protection). The problem is that it goes all fascist on your computer thinking literally anything is a virus and does so utilizing chump resources.
