Replies anonomouse Posted at 8:17 pm on Jan. 10, 2009 Avast! for an anti-virus. If you want to be protected from hackers, you'll need a firewall also. Here's a good guide to choosing a firewall: http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-firewall.htm . I don't use a firewall, though, because Avast! does most of the basic firewall tasks (like automatically blocking virus-containing websites on the internet, no matter what browser). atomictastic Posted at 3:21 pm on Jan. 4, 2009 Go with Avast! I replaced 2008 norton after the subscription ran out with AVG and the first AVG scan found a fucking laundry list of shit. The computer now is running significently faster. Norton is crap.
