If you can find the filename of whatevers doing that do a google search for ways to get it off. If you cant, go to trendmicro and take the online virus scanner they have, i found its really good at finding virii.

it happened to me. it got really nasty in the end and i had to reformat the whole thing. try running all the antivirus and antispyware stuff you have, if you find the source try using killbox to kill it, or just purge the file.

Alright so my dad was trying to download this crack for Civilization 4 so he could run it w/o the disk. But the crack had some pretty nasty spy ware attached to it. We got rid of all the spyware but the spyware turned the desktop background into a thing that says your computers infected with spyware and don't use it till you get the spyware off. Normally my dad wouldn't care about this but it's not his computer and the person's computer it is will be pissed if the background is permanetly set like that. And I forgot to mention that when I go to desktop settings in properties it won't let me change the background, it's look all the buttons are essentially gone. Anybody have this happen to them or know what my pops needs to do, thanks.
