First off, antivirus software is not needed on a pc unless you are a noob. Any person with some sort of computer knowledge knows what and what not to download. I could get away with not using an antivirus, but I just stick to it to be on the safe side . Moving on, antispyware software is a must have with every computer, spyware is a big baddabitch and is always on your pc no matter what. It could be in your antivirus software right through to your modem drivers. The big antivirus companies pay the antispyware companies not to find the small pieces of spyware in their products being installed on computers. This is how people would get the odd add and popup on certain sites. Don't be afraid to even have 2 pieces of antispyware software on your pc, as it will do no harm. A registry cleaner is a must have also, with it, you can optimise your computers speed; tenfold.

I use Avast!, Spycatcher for antispyware "real-time" protection and Ad-Aware for scanning; although I do use Spycatcher for quick scans as it is the fastest scanner around, with a full-scan time of just 8 minutes. I also use Registry Cleaner every now and again and it optimises my pc's performance to the max.

Post your own comments, thoughts and feelings on the matter.

If you could, please post your software usages to this post.

Personally, I would have opened my P2P file sharing program sucha as Limewire, Morpheus or Ares and selected the documen/documents section, and typed in what i needed. That's how I get mine, go try it out. Type in, lets say Diablo 2, tyr that and a load of documents with CDKEYS will be in them :D. Go try it :D

lol, what's the keygen for?

Oh it was supposed to be for a rogram that would ri the audio off a DVD...

...I found a key off a website for the program eventually. I should've just searched backwards like that in the first place (find the key first, then find the program that fit it)

I agree. Anti virus software is for douches.... though it took me time to distinguish between contaminated files, and otherwise while downloading. I pretty much know how how MOST viruses can plague itself to your computer.

Spyware is a lil harder. Basic rule is, DONT use IE. Another rule, is dont click yes to those odd popup windows....

Though thanks for the tip. I havent registry cleaned at all since I got my PC. Thanks for reminding me.

No problem, just here to help. I go for the fastest more protected pc I can. I analyse resources and running processes in order to achieve perfection. My pc (which was from PC World) (how gay) was shitty and now it runs way faster than when I first got it, as I uninstalled Norton and installed my own personal software and tweaked the entire pc from top to bottom! :D

Haha thanks for the tip =p

Thats pretty good too, erm you can get many Registry Cleaners from all over the net. I'd go to www.download.com, as it is simple to navigate around and will help you find what yer lookin for. The PC Tools registry Cleaner, requires you to pay, but in my experience is probably the best. You get something like the first 20 errors fixed for free, then you just reinstall it again :P

Can someone 'verify' the registry info?

I've had a bad experience with a registry software once and I'm scared to do anything with it lol =p
