Hey,

So it's not my computer, but it is a friends computer and there is a Stealth Boot Virus on it.

The computer boots up and McAfee pops up saying Stealth Boot Virus deteched press OK to reboot with the system recovery disks or something of that nature.

First, I don't have any cd's/boot disks.

The computer has Windows 2000 ME.

So online it was telling me to download a bootme file and stick it on a floppy except when I try to get it to boot from the floppy it isn't able to boot from it.

So anyone know how I would go about getting rid of it?

I put AVG on it and it didn't find any virus... Perhaps McAfee is full of it.

But whenever you turn the computer on it starts doing a disk check... So I'm thinking the virus has affected the MBR perhaps...

So any ideas how to remove it?
