You were too young to try them properly when they were big, to understand the context of their music. Thematically, Primus has many many similarities to RHCP's early work. His guitar solos are repeating the same thing over again, not creativity etc. Les would play circles around Flea, so would Alex Webster, Jaco and Wooten.
