I have received this error within a few seconds of opening Adobe Acrobat Professional.

"Adobe Acrobat 8.0.1 Professional cannot be launched at this time. You must launch atleast one other suite component (such as Adobe Photoshop) before launching Acrobat 8.0.1 Professional."

I tried Googling the problem and found a thread in the Adobe Mac forums about this but couldn't find a working solution. One user said to move some folders from the following location, but I don't know what the Windows equivalent would be. I have searched for the folders on my machine but with no luck.

/Library/Application Support/Adobe

I tried installing this patch as well as re-installing Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional from the Adobe CS3 Master collection CD, and still no luck.

The notice reappears several times after I click the OK button, then closes Acrobat. I also have the free version of Adobe Reader 8, but I need to be able to click and drag PDF pages into other PDFs, which I can only do with Acrobat Pro.

Can anyone help?

Some member of the Adobe forums have said it happens when you install Acrobat Pro from the CS3 suite CD and don't register the CS3 suite before opening Acrobat, but I had installed CS3 months ago, registered it and used Acrobat with no problems until now. It's just strange that this problem should occur now, when I haven't installed any Adobe products in months, if it's registration related.

That is weird. Offhand it sounds like its looking for a specific dll that can only be accessed from another Adobe product.
