Ok, I bought a brand new laptop. There was a house party last night at my flat and I had it left on the table playing music, and this guy takes it off the table and puts it on the mattress he is sitting on.

He has firefox and windows media player open. They were jumping up and down to the music on the mattress. Nothing else. It was shaking a bit.

Then after a while he tells me it is frozen. It wont respond at all.

A friend whos good with computers cant get it to respond and he turns it off and turns it back on by pressing the button and its fine.

But today, it will run perfectly for 10-20 minutes before it freezes completely.

Any idea how to solve this problem? I desperately need to.

My first guess would be the hard drive is dead/dying.  Try the error-checking tool in the hard drive's properties.

If you can't find a problem with it and the problem continues back-up the data and start anew with a fresh format and install of the OS.  If the problem still continues you will most likely need a hard drive.

Laptops may be portable but one should still make sure they are not shaken up while running.

I'd seek professional help. Or just reboot the software in the computer.

I'd try asking your friend what you can do... He might know what to do...
