VLC for Videos.

Im partial to the Zune software for the social features, Mix View, the wall of album artwork. Its like WMP will be in Win7.

WinAMP is what I would go with if you dont need a specific app like Zune or iTunes for a mobile device.

Even so, both Zune and iTunes have there key features, and you may like one or the other, even if you arent going to use the device.

How can we suggest a better one if you don't tell us what you didn't like. WMP is one of the best out there. With the proper codec packs i think it is actually the best out there.

Songbird for music.  VLC for videos.

I've been loving WinAmp lately, used to be a WMP fan but I've changed over. Like the fact that I can control it through my browser :).

FoxyTunes supports WMP. :p

also it's integrated really well into Windows 7. it's a pretty cool new version.

WinAMP!!! It' kicks all of the other media players asses when it comes to playing mp3's.

WindowShade Mode FTW!

EDIT: Oh plus it looks freaking sexy.

Quicktime. RealPlayer. FlashPlayer.
lie, lie, lie...All of these are far inferior to WMP. Not to say the WMP is good...What do you need the media player to do? Play music-iTunes, play video-VLC.
