I need to download a program that will edit MP3 audio files, edit things like cutting length, volume, etc. Any suggestions? Preferably free ones

The best free one is Audacity. I have this and quite enjoy it. It is also free.

Some other good ones that you can choose from: (BTW, you can try each one out. The program MB size really isn't that much.)

These are free:

Music Editor Free
Free Audio Editor

If you decide its time to pay for a really good one, you could consider these:

Total Recorder Editor
MP3 Stream Editor

Now these are some of the programs to stay away from. I have tried these and they are either way to complicated and not convenient or just weren't that good.

Zortam Mp3 Media Studio
Audio Editor Deluxe
Power Sound Editor Free
