| not what i want to do. I want my code to detect when 5 images are in a row, then start another. and so on and so forth. my images are gonna be named numericaly1-x |

Get an array with all your pictures in it. Iterate through them, with a counter, and when it's a multiple of five, drop down to the next line. I'm sure you know how to output the necessary formatting.
