considering it's not even a chevrolet specific transmission.

you sir are and idiot. :/

Oh so sorry. Because GMC, Pontiac, etc. are somehow different from Chevy? Dayum, that badge on the grill must make a world of difference!

Dumb shit.

See now if it had been beat to hell like you think I said, I'd say it falling apart under 100k would be justified. Problem is you're mixing up the Cheyenne with the Silverado. The Silverado was the daily driver of one 83 year old man. Who had it inspected  MONTHLY by our trusted mechanic. It has had two oil changes, two radiator fluid changes, one transmission fluid change, two tire rotations, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some, in the past twelve months or under 3,000 miles. Now, it has not ever been taken off road, nor has it ever towed a trailer. When any work whatsoever was to be had, the C/K did it. If this truck had ever been considered to be a work truck, the previous 83 year old owner would have had a stick shift as opposed to the easier-to-use-yet-less-work-oriented 4L60-E four speed automatic transaxle.

This truck has had little to do in its flawed life other then drive 15 miles daily to work and back. It has certainly not done half the work our 270,000 mile Ford F-150 or 110,000 Cheyenne have done. This truck has under 90,000 miles and is newer then both said Ford and C/K. Am I to believe Kyle when he says automatics outlast manuals when the first automatic equipped truck in our entire family's history is the first truck to have major transmission problems under 100,000 miles? Whats a new clutch anyway? Well, $300. Whats a new transmission for a Silverado? Maybe, if you're lucky, under $4,000.

I've heard far too many stories of these four speeds being shit in trucks. Our old Venture even had issues with shifting. Thats two Chevy cars in a row that have had problems? Very nice.

Say what you'd like, but I've always had something against these transmissions.. And behold, problems have occurred as anticipated. Its not even that automatic transaxles or Chevy transmissions are bad in general.

Another thing, the owner of that gold-ish base Impala? Just bought her daughter (my cousin) a black Impala. Think its and LT. THINK. Haven't seen it in person, just pictures. Nice looking thing. Circa '01 I'd say.

On the fabulous 4L60-E four speed automatic transmission that GM thought was worthy of being put in a truck, that stupid pos is going out. By going out I mean it skips gears and "slips" so it seems. Stick it in D and it starts off in 2nd? Thats GM Quality.

There was only BASE (3.4/3.8) and LS (3.8) from 2000 to 2005. The way to distinguish an LS is the fog lamps on the bumper.

BTW, I'm sure your transmission fluid needs changed. If it's a beaten-down work truck as you describe it several times, it may have not been changed / has been neglected. Before you go off saying the Hydra Matic transmissions are garbage, realize that they're only as good as the owner.

My 1998 Chevrolet Suburban had the HM 4L60, and never gave me a bit of problems - even towing a 7,000 pound trailer, pulling trucks out of mud / etc.

BTW, I'm sure it's just a bad solenoid. They go out sometimes. As far as the trans goes, it's bulletproof if maintained.

By the way, I think it's pretty obnoxious that you get your jollies off on harassing people. Pretty fucking low.

LOL@ punky saying he thinks its funny when people take the net seriously when he's been known to try and get people banned for talking about him. Can't figure out oil cap from radiator cap. And still can't do shit on his car more then google shit.

ROFL

You act like people hate Impala's, Grand Am's, other 90's FWD GM economy cars. You act like they are actually fantastic cars that can blow the doors off stock Mustang's, and proper, rear drive sedans. This may be (and probably is) true. However, I hate this attitude you imply when you point out "everyone thinks Impala's are granny cars." Not true. Not many people think this. Probably because so many people drive them, idk. Moral of the story being, don't generalize and say your car is truly hated until you've owned a Ford Tempo and/or Mercury Topaz. Sorry. Just a real big pet peeve of mine.

Edit: In addition, their transmissions are shit and they're auto-only, fwd-only cars. I don't likey. Now I know what you're gonna say, "oh you're Tempo is FWD/auto, etc" This is true. Thing is the Tempo was a free fucking car. See how this works? Another thing, the owner of that gold-ish base Impala? Just bought her daughter (my cousin) a black Impala. Think its and LT. THINK. Haven't seen it in person, just pictures. Nice looking thing. Circa '01 I'd say.

and we care bcuz...?

Awesome.

@OP: Dude. Get over it. Just because of those 2 GP's doesn't mean all Grand Prix's are that bad ass. If this were true, does that 1 Tempo make my Tempo a BAMF?

Where did he say all GP's are bad ass? No where.

And that "one tempo" (where you signed up and pretended to be the owner, ROFL) is a built car with a simple shell. These along with all other GP's the OP has posted are still GP's with extensive work.

Seriously your even dumber then before
