I have a 06 black mica Mazda 3. the damage is $1200. is there a way i can get a pint of black mica paint and have a body shop do it for cheaper? im short on cash and i dont feel its right for me to pay for it. any possibilities?

If it is covered under comprehensive your rates wont go up. And buying a bottle of matching paint and trying to paint the scratch is a bad idea. The shop is gonna have to featheredge, or sand around the scratch to smooth out the edges of the scratch and then repaint the entire area.
