So, after waking up late this morning, I prayed to god that my parents had cleared off my car for me. No such luck.

As you can see though, they shoveled the driveway.

And of course, my ice scraper/brush thing was in the car, and of course the glass in the windows where frozen to the weather stripping.

Naturally, I resorted to whatever was in the garage.

But of course after I got into the car and had it cleared off, the lights where frozen down. Damn pop-up headlights.

Clearing the car only took a few seconds with the broom. Unfreezing the door didnt take that long. It was those damn headlights though. I spent at least 15 minutes getting them unstuck.

Gah, the picture of a broom grinding against the paint.

Also remember that the car is 22 years old. Its not like the paint is shiny or new.

If it was in pristine condition, I would probably take the time to keep it that way, but since its not I will just use the broom. Its not making it any worse.

The other day (yesterday at 4:30AM) before work I had a like problem.  A few mm of ice covering the whole car.  Could only open the passenger side door so I had to climb through that side to force open the other door.  Then took at least 25 minutes to get all the damn ice off; just front windows, and most of the windshield.

Of course since this is a lot 3 blocks away I don't have any help from electronics or a garage full of stuff.

Now I have to get the damn wiper fluid working.

Man I knew I should have taken pics of my truck covered in snow. There was about a foot and a half on it ;)

I usually just use the hose if there's a lot of ice..

oh because we're all fortunate enough to have our cars in garages
MrRight Posted at 8:38 pm on Dec. 17, 2008
Car stays in the garage so it does not see any snow pileups.

I cleared the snow off my car earlier with an electic leaf blower.

I just got a car wash yesterday sooo the paint was nice and slick so the snow wouldnt stick.. took it to the turtle wax car wash I worked at.. got a discount. Talked to the manager and I was allowed to the back to do all my own prep work (alkaline wheel and tire cleaner, pressure wash, tire cleaners) .. I paid $14 for the most basic wash.. I used all the stuff that woulda cost me $25+.

Pressure washed all four wheel wells, wheels, and tires, around the body, all the ice on the roof.. used wheel and tire cleaner / brightener in the fenderwells, on the wheels and tires , pressure washed those out, pressure washed the chassis and wiped the door jambs down with an MF towel before I put it down the wash rack.

Looked really nice until I drove down the road.

I'm too lazy for that, I just crank the heat up and wait for a few minutes inside.

There was three inches of snow, at least. And I had to defrost the doors in order to get in, the glass was stuck to the weather stripping.

Naturally, you took pictures of this too.

I would've loved to have been your neighbor at that moment.

It was 1145, so my neighbors where at work . But yeah, I took pictures with my phone in anticipation of this thread. Im just that lame.

It's okay. I do that too. It's so painful to admit. lol
