I've been taking Lexapro for my anxiety for about a week now and, thus far, it's worked. This morning, though, I woke up feeling a little panicky. I'd had a bad dream that touched upon one of my fears, said fear concerning my boyfriend.

He's on the opposite coast so I didn't call him even though I wanted to. I waited until 11:00, 8:00 his time, before I tried to reach him but he didn't pick up. I figured he was still sleeping so I decided to wait until he logged on because he usually does before I leave for class at 1:15.

He never logged on, though, so I just left. By then, my panic had died down for the most part so it was okay.

Class let out early so I went back to my dorm to check my messages, thinking/hoping he'd left one. Nothing. Then I thought maybe he was busy so I logged onto MySpace and checked my and his pages and there it was -- "online". WTF?

Basically, he'd logged on and messaged some dumb blonde but failed to check on me. No messages, no texts, no calls. When I asked why he hadn't messaged me, he said that he'd rather talk to me when I'm online. That's great and all but are you familiar with the concept of calling? What about texting? Yeah, you have a fucking phone for a reason, use it!

Mind you, he has no problem using it at 3:00 in the morning (my time) to call me when he's panicking. He called me two nights in a row and I picked up both times. I didn't get mad and was incredibly patient and understanding. I spent 15 minutes one time, over 30 the next, trying to calm him down. And if he'd decided that he needed more time, I would have given it to him.

His explanation?-- "I didn't think to, I'm sorry."

So, you remember to message your new bff and you remember to text when you're upset and to call when you're panicked but you suddenly forget how to do all of the above when I need you?

Asshole.
