I can't call myself an American now out of the shame that my country walked pass the little kid at the playground and did nothing to protect it from the bully... This is going to ruin our relationship with foreign countries because now they know they can't count on us to lend a helping hand to them.

It's weak and vulnerable because we made it so. He is not saying that we should withdraw our support, but that we should cease all military effort to apply our ideal to their society.
