I think some ppl who try to make that claim just try to to create more race divisions between Jews and Palestinians. The way things are right now I don't think that Native Americans "own" the Americas more or less than European or non-European immigrants who came after. Making that point is stupid and unjust either way. But it is true that AT LEAST Native Americans and Palestinians SHOULD be able to have automatic citizenship in the land where their ancestors were also born. I don't know if 2-state or 1-state solution is better. But whatever state(s) we are talking about Palestinians should have equal citizenship and equal rights in there don't you think? football Posted at 10:28 am on Jan. 11, 2009 This forum goes to show how little most people know about the Jewish/Palestinian conflict and it's history. People keep saying that the Jews "took" land from someone. This is a common misconception. All that happened was the land in question was declared to be a part of the newly created state of Israel. The private landowners lost nothing. It was no different than if we were to, say move the border between California and Oregon South. Those individuals who lived in what was California and is now Oregon don't lose their land, they just become a part of Oregon instead of California. Obviously with the case of Israel we are talking about the creation of a new state, not just moving the border of an existing one. The reason so many Palestinians "lost" their land is that they decided to (what they thought was temporarily) leave the area while the Arabs invaded and exterminated the Jewish race. Then when the Jews fought back and won, they obviously said that those who had left were not welcome back, and then the Arabs themselves refused to integrate these new refugees into their societies either. So I'm not saying the Jews are always innocent and haven't ever done a single wrong, but historically all they have tried to do is survive, and it is the Palestinians and Arabs who have tried to kill someone who was just trying to live. Just like now, there was a peace agreement between Hamas and Israel, which Israel respected DESPITE continued Hamas attacks; then when the treaty expires and Israel strikes back fiercely to the Palestinian provocation, some of you want to act as if the Palestinians are the victims, simply because they are inferior militarily. Well maybe they shouldn't go messing someone who is stronger than them. I bet none of you would feel sorry for a man who walked up to a bear that was minding it's own business and started jabbing it in the side with a stake and then got mauled.
