I've just realised that I spend all of my time sitting in a dark theatre with a bunch of 23 year olds discussing art all day.
I think I'm a loser...

All my friends go out to the beach and theme parks and shopping and all that...

I mean, I join them at night for drinks, but...

Does that make me a loser?

Lol. I guess I'm happy where I am, and that's all that matters. I don't really care what others think of me, but when I sum it all up in one sentence I am curious as to what other peoples take of it is.

...I have a feeling I'm going to turn into one of those 25 year olds who when asked what they do respond "...I'm an artist"
And everyone just goes "rightttt" in their heads.

WTF? Who said anything about stereotypical "tortured artist?" You seem to be talking out both sides of your mouth. I don't really care what people say, but I feel some kind of obligation to do "typical teenage things" whatever the fuck that is so you make other people happy. Whatever happened to being happy? Sorry dear, I love you; but your rationale is dumb. I am a music major, and I have seen enough of the "tortured soul" artist type. Guys who go around imitating some music genre bemoaning how nobody feels their music! Face it, you can either be you or be artificial creature you've created to make people happy.

So? You say you're happy and don't care what other people think, so what's the point of your topic? You could always change to do something that doesn't make you happy, to appease the rest of the world.

I suppose I feel some sort of obligation to partake in typical teenage activities, basically to keep other people happy. I don't deeply care what others think of me, but I am curious as the what your perspective is - which is the point of this topic.
And honestly I don't want to play the role of the "tortured artist" who thinks they're alternative and the world will never accept them. I'm accepted. I'm happy. I just do things a lil differently - which could be seen as being a total loser in the eyes of other seventeen year olds.

why does not hanging out at the beach damaging your skin make you a loser? different people like different things; you obviously like art, so there's no point in changing just to "fit in"'

Ah yeah I know how you feel.

Over the summer I have lost all my real friends since I moved 2 hours or so away from them. I take online classes, so that doesn't help me make any friends out here, along with my sign holder job -_-" it's like I was meant to be lonely now.

Slash probably spent a good portion of a year dissociating from alot of his friends to stay home and play his guitar.

Hes totally not a loser

Surprisingly in the many years I've been here you are only the second person who has used that phrase "you're just another noob".
Funny, huh?

I love art. Its a passion of mine, it helps me express myself in the most honest way I have ever been able to. Drama wasn;t enough on its own for me to find myself. Art has helped me so much.
