Alrighty, tomoro i have auditions for west side story and im friggen nervous. I was the lead in the play, but its the singing why im nervous. Im a really good singer and the audition is sight reading. I know, seriously. Im really nervous and i still have to memorize some dialogue. Im trying out for Anita. Oh, and the choire director is a bitch and totally hates me. Advice Please!!

Present your lines flawlessly, and do those before you sing (if you have the choice), so you can go into the singing confidently. To really rock the lines, spend a lot of time memorizing them. Read them just like you would if you were in the actual show, using pauses and accents that your character would use. Getting into character really can improve an audition.

But the biggest way to have a perfect audition is to look cool and collected. It is totally okay to be nervous, but don't show it!

You'll do great.

Don't look at the people when you sing, look at the back of the room. Take deep breathes, and get into character.

ughh still so nervous... but thank you that is helpful!
