Okay I have an improv solo at our concert tonight...I play clarinet. The song basically follows a Bb blues format, so I've been using those notes and hitting the roots of each chord, but I know there must be more notes besides the few that are in the Bb blues scale. What are they?

well if your playing blues. Stay with the scale.

Change octaves a bit.

otherwise hit the 3rds and 5th of the root notes of the scale. =]
