what's wrong with me?
Quote: from Heidichu at 2:38 pm on Dec. 1, 2008 If that's true then I'll admit I'm wrong, but I thought people who are as athletic and healthy as you say you are, looked younger, not older than they really are. But in any case, I apologize for the mistake. This user caught my attention before and I checked out their other posts, and I have no idea how old she really is, but in some she's said she's fourteen and in some seventeen. So I'm doubting you owe an apology.

i skip between thirteen and fourteen because i'm worried people won't take me seriously at thirteen.
and the posts that say seventeen? most likely, because i'm talking about a relationship. i tend to have relationships with people older than me (the oldest was 19, as i'm 13) . and i don't feel like getting the 'ewww' comments.
for the last few weeks (maybe a month)... i've been falling asleep at like 8 o clock, and waking up at like 9:30. that's over twelve hours. i'm not pregnant, i'm at a healthy weight (124 and 5'8''), and i'm 13 years old, not on any medication... depression? that i'm not aware of? or some kind of hidden medical cause...? what's wrong with me?
You're 13 lovey. (Though I must say you don't look it!) Practically, at this stage of your life, your body needs 10 hours of sleep a night but usually gets less than 8. It isn't unheard of catch up on sleep.
Quote: from neodymie at 2:20 pm on Dec. 1, 2008 There's nothing wrong with sleeping a lot. Especially at your age. Are you tired through the day still? a bit tired, yes. i never feel...energized. i'm a vegetarian, too. could this affect it? no, it can't because i've been for a year, and it hasn't until a month or so ago...

I'd say to try cutting back slightly on the sleep.
You're a vegetarian so try taking an iron supplement. Iron levels are important. Also make sure to take any other vitamins.
Watch you're calories. At your age your metabolism may be starting to speed up in which case you will need more calories to maintain. Add dancing and the growing your doing at 13 you could easily not be eating enough.
Ask a doctor too. There's really no reason not to. (Based on current info).

i understand completely, and accept your apology.
I'd recommend that you get some professional diet advice from a nutritionist and also get checked by your doctor. More than likely something is just a bit out of whack but you should rule out anything more serious.
When youre doing that much exercise it is essential that you get enough protein. The best sources for a veggie would be : eggs, nuts, pulses, beans. You need a lot of these things (fewer of the nuts because of excess fats)

It could be body changes are having some effect. Most likely, I think, is simply that you are not getting enough exercise and are sleeping too long. Your body will get into that cycle and it may be hard to break. Exercise- just mild stuff, but at regular times if possible and throughout the day...basically your body is designed to move and be active. When we don't, we get sluggish which leads to more "sluggishness". So, walk to school if you can , walk to friends, to the corner store. Then do some specific exercise at some point in the day...maybe at school, maybe home.
This will take some time to change- and it may be hard to get started. Burt force yourself to get up at a reasonable time, force yourself to get that mild walking exercise or whatever and within a week you'll notice a small difference. Within two week,s a more noticeable difference and it'll get better. But expect the first week or so to be hard to get started

If you're going to lie right off the bat, don't expect people to give a shit about the credibility of their assumptions.

Maybe your growing body needs more energy to keep it going. Anyway, with you doing so much, needing a lot of sleep is natural. The dancing explains you being underweight. Erm, the best advice i can give is again to go see a doctor and see what they recommend. At 13, any minor changes could have a big impact on your health.
