This is a rather interesting discussion that pink isn't actually a colour.

Every other colour such as red, green, brown, yellow, auburn, teal, etc, all have wavelengths of light that correspond to the energies (E=hv) they emit. However magenta doesn't appear on the spectrum.

I'll save the explanation, because you can read that in the article, but this is quite weird, no?

A colour that has no wavelength, that technically doesn't exist.

black is not a colour either

i thought black was combination of every colour in the universe

White is the net sum of all colours.

Black exists where there is no colour.

thats crazy. funny that the other day i was arguing with my dad about magenta being one of the primary colors (he said yellow, cyan & magenta)
They are primary colors for printing.

he wasnt talking about printing though

That's white. Black is the absorption or absence of all color.

It isn't. It is colourless and so is white.

That's quite interesting.

Without a single wavelength, sorry for my obfuscation. It's funny watching the two of you get upset about this though.

We're upset at your stupidity. Regardless of how you view yourself "you can't make chardonnay out of shit."

You got to it before me, I think instead of arguing against him we should just help him. I fear one day he may go around town telling people magenta is not a color.

I am merely upset that your brain is so severely damaged that you may need help. I am here for you marshmellowman. We can't all be a genius, I hope you understand that and look toward different goals in life.

To add to my other statement,

his ventral stream doesn't appear to be working either.

You said in two places in your original post that it isn't a actual color.

Yea, he clearly stated it isn't a color. He obviously changed his mind now.

Narfle the Garthok Posted at 2:40 pm on Sep. 1, 2008
Did you read my OP? I said it was a colour, just one without a wavelength. The title was much easier and attracts attention for a more lively discussion.

It has no single wavelength, but a mixture of red and blue wavelengths. Therefor it is not "without a wavelength".

There are many other colors that are like magenta, them being extra-spectral.
