You're the one typing like a jackass.
How am i typing like a jackass? Do you not get annoyed at how many topics they are creating?
Oh, hell yeah I'm annoyed. It's just this typing style where you hit enter after every sentence pisses me off. |

| Whut? I'm not sure why you bothered wasting so much space on the potential destruction of the world when it's little more than media hype. Furthermore, a failure to detect Higgs at the energies probed would be far more exciting than success. And a failure to detect isn't a failure in experimental terms, it's as much a positive result as finding the damn particle. There would've been no waste. |

Why worry? if something actually does go wrong you'd be dead before you know it. Assuming that the earth would be destroyed after being sucked into a black hole.
That allm deped on what hapens in it
That's what I meant when I said "assuming". |

Lol, this is the millionth board I've seen on this... We could die, we could not. =)
no, we can't. They might produce MINI black holes. IN A VACUUM. They are super super tiny and die out nearly instantaneously. They are of, almost literally, no risk whatsoever.
most black holes are in a vacume
Depends on what you consider a vacuum. A vacuum to us is much different than a vacuum to a black hole. To a black hole [assuming it is the size of most typical black holes] the vacuum of space isn't really a vacuum at all. There is energy floating around everywhere, solar winds providing energy, and all sorts of collections of particles and masses that feed it. Vacuum? not really. To a micro black hole, in a vacuum the size of the CERN accelerator, there is nothing for it to feed on. Not only that, but the size of the hole dictates the speed at which it will close up [kind of like the wirlpools in a pool when you run your hand through the water]. The sizes of the micro black holes that could be created would be so small that the time it would take to close up would be almost immeasurable. |

I don't understand why everyone is so worried about this. If EVERYONE on Earth is going to die, who cares? My biggest fear about dying is leaving the ones I love behind - but if they're all dead to, what's the fear? Do you fear simply dying? Even if everyone on the planet dies with you?
Maybe it's not fear but the fact that you know you won't be able to do everything you wanted to do or everything you like because it's all about to end. |

There is a minuscule change that something larger will form, or that the small ones will bind together, but we are more likely to be hit by a rogue asteroid. FP |
