| Side effects from medication so inhibited my mental functioning that now I have no chance of getting into graduate school. I'd say that is a pretty big problem. |

| Again... i'll stress to people.... "you are what you believe you are" You can only be bipolar if you believe that you are. Its like.... you can only feel angry by telling yourself that your angry... You can only be sad by telling yourself that you are... and you can only feel fantastic if you tell yourself that you are. (this is my favourite one) |

Yes, but I know 100 people dont have it that serverly
And your point is that since those 100 random people don't have it severely, the rest of the world also doesn't? It can be severe enough to impair function, such as psychotic episodes (i.e. delusions or hallciunations or both). That's towards the more severe end, which I presume is what the other posters are talking about.
No my point is.. I know all these people whom say the have bipolar on this forum (theres at least 20) Cant have it that bad. They just want to think they know what we (the disabled ) go through but they dont! |

People have different intensities of it. When it is severe, it really impairs your ability to function normally.
Yes, very true. I have a mild case of bipolar and am easily scared off by people who are very severely bipolar because they can be dangerous and out of control |
