Here's the criteria.

 1. Frantic efforts to avoid real or imagined abandonment. [Not including suicidal or self-mutilating behavior covered in Criterion 5]
  2. A pattern of unstable and intense interpersonal relationships characterized by alternating between extremes of idealization and devaluation.
  3. Identity disturbance: markedly and persistently unstable self-image or sense of self.
  4. Impulsivity in at least two areas that are potentially self-damaging (e.g., promiscuous sex, eating disorders, binge eating, substance abuse, reckless driving). [Again, not including suicidal or self-mutilating behavior covered in Criterion 5]
  5. Recurrent suicidal behavior, gestures, threats, or self-mutilating behavior such as cutting, interfering with the healing of scars, or picking at oneself.
  6. Affective instability due to a marked reactivity of mood (e.g., intense episodic dysphoria, irritability, or anxiety usually lasting a few hours and only rarely more than a few days).
  7. Chronic feelings of emptiness, worthlessness.
  8. Inappropriate anger or difficulty controlling anger (e.g., frequent displays of temper, constant anger, recurrent physical fights).
  9. Transient, stress-related paranoid ideation or severe dissociative symptoms

I have never been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, however I posses basically every symptom, and have thought to myself, many times in the past that I might have this disorder.

Everyone can have symptoms of BPD.... as people have demonstrated.

But to actually have BPD you need to have most of the symptoms most of the time. It bugs me how people say "yeah I've got 3 of the symptoms, I might have it!"

I was reading a book on disorders a while back and came upon the description for Borderline Personality Disorder and became a little worried that that's what was wrong with me. I've never been diagnosed so I can't say that it is but sometimes I still wonder.

I have number 8 on this. I also already have antisocial personality disorder and schizophrenia is a recent probability. I'm just screwed up that way!

Heh. We all probably have some kind of mental behavior personality disorder.
It's called life. Deal with it. instead of attaching a name to it, getting drugs to dull it. seriously.

It's kind of fun, though, to go through them all and attach the names to yourself.  IMO.

But yeah, it's true that really everyone in the world could be diagnosed with some form of disorder because of our idiosyncracies.

I have three of them.  I think.

I match with quite a few of those, but you can't diagnose yourself through a criteria checklist. I mean, many of those are symptoms being a teenager.
