It's a life-long disorder and it's primarily mental, although sufferers often have physical illnesses which can mistakenly be attributed to the disorder. It's very possible your cousin could learn to socially interact at college, even if it is at a basic level - it might be a good idea to share rooms as it would probably give her a better chance of meeting new people. No, it shouldn't be physically crippling, although people with Asperger's can suffer with other conditions which can seem/can have phsyical effects.
