illegal immigration. because it causes racial tensions, which would be much better not there in the first place.

They only stoppoed doing that around 1950s after the italians and other eruopeans got totally more integrated by becoming soldiers in WWII.

Exactly.  And that's where it ought to lead to.  Instead they'll think of themselves in terms of this new hybrid culture (though bear in mind that time is perhaps the biggest factor in the evolution of culture) and all identification with the cultures we think of today will be more or less irrelevent.  Instead they'll have this new culture, in contrast to the many other new cultures around the world they come in contact with, where they'll likely be thinkng about the same issues about integration, but differently as they probably won't have as large a collection of groups and different cultures that we have today.

Before becoming mutts most of them were recent immigrants like in the late 1800s and early 1900s. I bet a lot of them did #4.

Sounds more or less like the cultural development of the last 200 years or so, only far less emphasis on #4 in any meaningful sense (you must remember, white Americans are, for the most part, European mutts who all came from different backgrounds and cultures in Europe, and formed a new hybrid one).

Well the way I see it is

1. a new hybrid culture can be created (we're already doing it somewhat)
2. some cultural stuff from all those different countries/peoples are preserved by purists and traditionalists and enjoyed by everybody.
3. the two types exist peacefully without conflicting because no one is trying to "impose" stuff.
4. individual ppl communicate with each other using #1 and celebrate their origins/heritage (or the heritage of their friends) using #2

How does that sound?

This but also allowing ppl to practice their own culture as well at their home or in public and with their friends, family and others. (Like festivals, parties, holidays, etc...)

People would be free to engage in that sort of thing.  Nobody would be stopping them.

However, over time as people and cultures intermix, the natural result is the creation of a single, new hybrid people / culture.  This is what things should be heading towards.  But don't me wrong - new people and cultures will always be added as time goes on.  It's a never ending process.

I don't consider any problems to be truly racial. They're almost always ethnic/cultural/religious.

So, I'd say the only real racial problems facing the "world" (the US) today are the classics; inferior position of blacks in society, institutionalized/private racism, perpetually unfulfilled promises to the American Aboriginals... Yeh.

Integration of all peoples into one single group (which includes treating each other as individuals, and not as a certain race), and not just a collection of separate, and not necessarily always equal, groups.
