Honestly, I think 4/5 of the faculty and students at my school are morons when it comes to politics. Today, we were supposed to be presenting life lessons, and another student(keep in mind she's white, Scot-Irish I believe) brought in a poem by a black girl who grew up in the ghettos. Anyone who knows anything about me, knows that a pet peeve of mine is people complaining about the system for their problems, or using race is an excuse(the race card.) This poem not only claimed that her people are suffering in the ghettos(meaning blacks) and that she wanted to know why everyone else was able to have good lives, but she also blamed the system, as if it was trying to suppress blacks. I understand the student didn't write the poem, but she presented it, and to make this even better, claimed that "us white people" owe them and need to help them out. So I calmly raised my hand, and politely offered my arguments, which were as following.

"Excuse me, but I'm a bit confused, the author of this poem acts like it's only her race in the ghettos, there is ghettos of all races, even if they refuse to admit it. Also, she seems to think that parents getting divorced and her's being a drug addict has anything to do with her minority or where she lived, she complains about not having a father, try having your first one walk out on you, your second one abusive, and your mom hooked on Valium. Besides, since when are all black people stuck in ghettos? Last I checked there are plenty of blacks who are in the business world thriving in the upper class."

Then, my teacher, being the biased bigots that they are, interjected,

"Well, that might be the case, but there are still many African Americans who are in ghettos, and they never had the choice."

My retort was, "So that means the system has to repay them? I thought the whole idea now was an even playing field from scratch, not giving people benefits at the rest's expense. And it's not like any of us have done this personally, last I checked, we aren't trying to trap the blacks in ghettos, they are trapping themselves, just like every other ghetto in this country. What do I owe the African American community that should be coming out of my family and I's taxes? We are German and Irish, our Irish ancestors already died trying to free the blacks, and never participated in slavery, and our German ancestors immigrated after WWI. So what do I owe them because they are stuck? Or here's a deal, I'll start helping minorities when they stop using the race card, because that's already an advantage they have."

I was told she "unfortunately had to cut me short" because we had spent too much time on the conversation. Bullshit, she knew I was right. I hate being in the Chicagoland area, I hate being surrounded by not even liberals, but dumb fucks who have been force fed this bullshit by their parents without even understanding what they are saying. As for the teachers...perhaps Down Syndrome.

Actually ghettos do end up trapping most of their population be they African America, Hispanic, Asian, or White.

I feel the same way about people who try to play the race card and shit like that. Oh and ya just gotta love the kids who preach Obama to look smart when they don't know shit about politics. South East Wisconsin is basically the same as Chicago i guess.

Black people have been discriminated against for too long, and just because your particular ancestry wasnt involved (so you claim) doesnt mean you shouldnt help them now.

I smell a fascist.

I find it very cool that you have enough guts to acctualy say something because everyone these days are afraid of being called a racist. I agree with most of what you said.
