And after they had managed to subdue him he began threatening to eat them. Laventure appeared out of some woods and was seen running naked around a golf range near Atlanta, swinging a club around his head and screaming.
Police said that it took several officers to subdue the man who had 'super-human strength'.
'He came running at us out of the woodline,' officer Ross Hancock told local station WSBTV. At first, they tried using pepper spray to stop him, but that left him undeterred.
'He didn't even wipe his eyes, he just kept them open,' Mr Hancock said of the pepper spray.
They then turned to their Tasers and though that momentarily shocked Laventure to the ground, it did not stop him.

i think they would have found meth or PCP. there are bath salts meant to mimic a mixture of both of those drugs, though. there's a recent cluster of more extreme cases though. one from China, even, where a man allegedly tried to bite off a woman's nose and lips. maybe we'll get more answers later. but right now, i don't see a reason not to assume it's a newer research chemical taken by people who just wanted something to do. the only research chemical i've ever done is BZP, and it was less than enjoyable and i felt more like i'd just drank seven cups of coffee than having taken mdma or a similar stimulant. skinning your own body and cutting off your appendages is serious. it's not that far-fetched to think something affected someone in such a way that they'd take it out on someone else as opposed to their own body.

I agree, its an astute observation. Working in that environment I never myself tried any of it so I can't speak from actual experiance. And your right its not that far fetched to assume, I guess Im speaking from the experiance of the bath salts that I knew, and the sporatic cases of how these "zombies" are popping up.
I know when I sold balth salts we sold over 200 per day, so I would think that if there is a varient of the mdma's and the like, and it was being sold, as popular as it is. That we would see more cases popping up in more centralized locations. Rather then the "here and there" cases we seem to be hearing of.
I also, agree that yes they could have a bad experience and be taking it out on someone else. I guess its just the side effect to me are all to common. Being "impervious to gunfire and tasers" etc can happen when you abuse a plethora of drugs.
Really, like you said we will just have to wait and see. I guess in my mentality I dont buy it cause I've seen this before. Somthing crazy and inexplicable happens so people panic and blame the newest vice. Like when people used to think marijuana would make you drive erraticly and kill your friends and family lol.
I would like to think its a new virus and the government is trying to cover it up to shelter us from mass panic during election time o_O, and the zombie apocalypse is starting soon for the 2012 send off and that all the Silent Hill 2 Ive been playing lately to brush up on my skills will save me.
Stick+Radio Static+Flashlight=bamf. bring it on plant food, bring it on.
for one thing, bath salts is a name for a shit ton of chemicals that constantly have their chemical makeup altered, so you cannot say that just because it's been around for ten years, it wouldn't do anything. they do not all originate from China, either, and your head shop did not sell every available research chemical. it is very possible a test failed to pick it up. not that far-fetched. and it definitely did not start with the man in Miami. bath salts, from what I know, first became a big deal when the episode of Intervention, i believe, came on A&E and the man took bath salts, not knowing which chemical he was ingesting, and proceeded to go onto his roof half naked to fight shadow monsters. there are reports from years ago of people becoming incredibly paranoid. in a year, the reports jumped from just a few to over 6,000. nobody is looking for a scapegoat. what they're looking for is the most obvious culprit based on what little is known. taking research chemicals is by and large a stupid idea. they are legal for a while because they bypass laws by slightly altering their chemical makeup. that's all. i don't know why you think it's not possible.

You dont have to tell me, I agree with everything you say. And I know the loopholes they go through by changing the chemical makeup of the compound believe you me lol.
When I referenced it starting with the man in Flordia, I was referencing the "Zombie Bath Salt" aspect of it.
and thats what I meant when I said "scapegoat" is that they were looking for the most obvious culprit based on what little is known.
I dont think its not possible that it could be bath salts, Im just saying I personally I dont buy it because I was directly involved with that world for 3 years. I've seen people cut off their own toes and people go crazy and naked and shoot a loved one.. But not this whole face eating zombie mess.
Cause if you break it down, the chemicals in bathsalts are meant to imitate real drugs. They have a brand a bathsalt that imitates cocaine, one that imitates meth, one that imitates acid and so on and so forth.
I will say however that bath salts (in my state at least) were made illegal july of last year and since then they have already "altered" the make up and are selling them as "window cleaner" or "rim cleaner" and none of that has made people go zombie crazy.
So perhaps theres a brand of salts still legal and floating around in the US that had its chemical makeup changed so much that it reacts in that way with certain persons to cause a zombie reaction.
But really, this could also be caused by real drugs like PCP and different methamphetamine.
What I've heard- and I could be wrong- is that there are people actually doing legitimate bath salts and getting high, and there is also a new drug being manufactured chemically that people are doing with the street name 'bath salts'.
Quote: from Eidolon at 9:35 pm on July 3, 2012 Its not bath salts god people will believe anything these days. why do you think it isn't?
Its not bath salts god people will believe anything these days.
Multiple reasons I guess.
For one, the story that started all this was the "Zombie" in Flordia who ate the guys face off and everyone said it was bath salts. Yet, when his toxicology report came back, the only substance in his system was marijuana.
2nd. Im the supervising manager of the 2nd largest headshop in the state that I live in. I sold bath salts for 3 years, and Ive seen all the different kinds of bath salts that were made. From the most unsafe retarted strong shit we could sell, to most mild salts available on the market
and in those 3 years (while it did make people who used it alot flip their shit) Nobody went crazy and ate peoples faces off.
Also, Bath Salt is what you would call a "designer drug" and if I recall correctly, it originated from the UK or perhaps China or one of the Asian countries. And its been around for over 10 years.
So if bath salts were causing people to be zombies, and eating peoples faces off. It would have happened already.
People just crave a scapegoats. And bath salts are VERY young in America. So people blame what they don't fully comprehend.
I heard about that shit the dude Fucking bit the other dudes face off!
lmfao
