The virus - if you contracted it - doesn't care one way or another, so you have to deal with reality. Here's a page of info on Herpes. http://www.smart2ask.org/popups/Herpes.htm You should also be concerned about other *possible* STDs that are detectable easily or immediately. And yes, HPV is a different - and very common virus- but you need to be concerned about both. You should also, just for your peace of mind, get an HIV test in 3 months, and to be 100% sure, in 6 months. Or just wait the 6 months. I'm not suggesting you are at any higher risk of HIV but it's a disease that symptoms don't appear for, usually, about 10 years after exposure.So it's best to be certain. http://www.smart2ask.org/STD.htm has info on several common STDs.
