His birthday is in August. He says there's nothing I can do to help, and to just not worry about it. We're fighting now, because I said I wanted to change the subject. If he goes, I go. Why do I always get myself in these situations?

I know for sure that he has depression. His parents are a bunch of drunks, and he's a loner. He only has one best friend, and they've been tight since kindergarten, and now they're drifting.... He refuses to get help, hates medicine and the whole theory of it, and he's just impossible. I've been through this before myself, and I just don't know what to do. He lives far away, though, and I don't know his family, or anything. You need to calmly discuss it and let him know that you care about him and you don't want him to ruin his and your future (and your baby..?). Suicide is never the way out.. and it's illegal. Tell his parents, even if you might get in trouble, and tell a counselor, and call the cops if you need to. This is serious and it needs to be handled.
