i only write ideas for videos so i wouldn't know, but what helps is to carry a notebook whereever you go and just nonchalantly write down whatever comes to mind.

yea i think i may start doing that now thanks

You need to let your mind rest once in a while and try to keep it clear when you want to write. Don't sit down at the computer or laptop with a blank white page in front of you, and try to force yourself to write as that won't help you. Something else you can do is carry a small notebook with you and whenever you have a thought or idea for your book, write it in the notebook, that way you'll have it written down and you can start writing based on your notes. Having these little notes will help jump start your brain when you are ready to write. Also make sure that the environment that you are writing in is suitable for writing - that there are no distractions by family members, television, radio or something outside.
ohk koolies thanks so much for the tips and ideas muchly appreciated
