hi sarah Posted at 3:57 am on Aug. 23, 2008
you told your boyfriend about personal feelings that you've never told anyone else ever before, and he turns around and says well i think you exaggerate things and make things a competition with everyone and all this stuff, with no good comments or supportive comments, do you think that's disrespectful and unnecessary?

His argument was that that's what he thought and he has a right to share his opinions.
Yeah well there is a line right? it's like i don't go around being racist even if i thought it, just because i have those opinions doesn't mean i share them
Right?

It doesn't seem like it was very respectful, but he did have a right to voice his opinion. Espically sence you went to him. But he could have also given some advice as well. Maybe tried to downplay what you said while helping.

I donno, that's just what I think.

I fucking hate when people do that
ALL my fucking friends come to me for fucking advice and then the ONE time I talk to them about my problems they make fun of it and shit

I believe "friends" is the wrong word for people like that.
reev Posted at 3:59 am on Aug. 23, 2008
while he does have the right to his own opinion, he's your boyfriend, so he shouldn't just be blunt and disrespectful with you, he should try and sympathize and understand what you're telling him. rather than being a dick about it.
