what did you go for? did you get nervous? what was it like
Feeling nervous is completely natural. It will get easier though - the first time will probably be the hardest. Go in with no expectations, you know? Just go, have a chat, and see how you feel after. The counselor's purpose isn't to make all your bad feelings go away at once, it's to listen and just do what s/he can. But if you go in with an open mind and let yourself be open and honest, it might really help. Talk about anything too. Whatever's on your mind.
I know how scary it can be, but try not to let your nerves get the better of you. Take a deep breath and go for it! Good luck.
But yes, going to see the counselor for the 1st time can be very nerve wracking... I remember I walked up to the door and then run about 3 times before I got the courage to actually go in.
You can go for many diffrent reasons, family problems, depression, anxiety, problems with school, peers... lots of things.
Every one has diffrent experience with them, the counsellors at my school have all been really good to talk to and helped me ALOT with my depression and eating disorder.
I play the geetah with mine.
And if you are nervous, a mask of bravado can go a long way.
