well, ive been having problems alot lately, and my friend thinks I should see a psychiatrist, I have a slight body image disorder, and quite some self-injury issues. MY friend has almost the same probs as me, but hes kinda older so he knows better, I feel really comfortable confiding with him, and I trust him alot. But do you think a psychiatrist will ever help, I mean having sessions with a psych is kinda expensive and I cant afford it. I don't want to tell my mom, cuz shes in another country and were kinda not that close. MY dad lives with her, so I cant rely on him either.

Just a word of advice, I'm not sure if this is what you meant, but I personally would see a psychologist instead of a psychiatrist.  Psychiatrists are the medical doctors who dispense drugs, and psychologists are the ones who talk to you to try to work things out.

For just about anyone having a hard time I like to tell them psychologists will help.  There are other ways though, since you're worried about costs.  Keep a journal, talk to your friends and family.

You just need people around you that love and care for you. Talk things out with your closest friend. im still going through what you are now but talking with someone helps get a little out. I hope you okay.

Yes, they will. And you don't have to talk to a psych, you can talk to a school councillor, and they should be able to help.
