especially since it's kind of incoherent in my mind.

When you feel really, really shit about something, how do you know if you are "overreacting" or "accurate"?

After a while, you might feel less bad about it, and think "oh I overreacted". But the depth of fucked-up-ness when you're feeling the worst might still be true, you're just distant from it when you're feeling okay.

I'm trying to simplify it, so sorry if it sounds simplistic. I feel like shit.

Yeah it seems like time just keeps making distance between the experience and you so you can't recall the feelings it produced exactly.
