You can try calling them over the phone. That way they are listening to your problem, instead of looking at you. That would help out a lot. Why don't you try talking your parents about, if you don't live your parents. You can also try another family member someone who you are comfortable talking to.
Remember your school counselor is supposed to help you out, in your time of crisis. If he/she is not there job you can report them. The worst that you can do is just keep that inside of you. Let it out have someone know about your problem.

The way to stop getting sent home IS to stop cutting. Wear long sleeves and just talk to the councillor on your break or something?
